Snapslate Support
Snapslate translates the text on your iPhone screen or in a photo, right on the device. Press and hold the Action Button, double tap the back of the iPhone or use Control Center, and the translation appears on top of the original.

Frequently asked questions
The Action Button or double tap does nothing
Snapslate starts through a shortcut. Open Snapslate, go to Settings, tap Configure Activation Method and follow the steps again: add the shortcut and assign it as the app shows.
The app asks to download a language
Translation works offline, so iOS needs the language pack for each language. Tap Download in the banner or in Settings → Languages. The download needs an internet connection once.
Which translation mode should I choose?
Fast shows a translation in about a second. Intelligent shows the fast one first and then replaces it with a more natural translation from Apple Intelligence. Slow waits for that natural translation from the start.
Does Snapslate send my screenshots anywhere?
No. Text recognition and translation run on your iPhone. See the Privacy Policy.
Some text is not translated or the translation is wrong
Very small, stylized or blurry text, and photos taken in low light, are harder to read. Try a sharper photo with more light. If a screenshot is translated badly, send it to us so we can improve the app.
